Antonios Skandalakis

He is not only the designer or the craftsman. He is above all a restless spirit, a
curious soul constantly in search of new balances.
He was born in Athens in 1983 on November 23rd. At twenty-five, after studying sociology, he moved to Milan. The city welcomes him and seduces him with art, design, the Made-in-Italy. This love leads him in a very natural way and with great passion to design and bulid furniture with his own hands.

He was born in Athens in 1983 on November 23rd. At twenty-five, after studying sociology, he moved to Milan. The city welcomes him and seduces him with art, design, the Made-in-Italy. This love leads him in a very natural way and with great passion to design and bulid furniture with his own hands.
He rent a small studio and devoted himself full time to his creations. Thus ATEENA begins to take shape, a project he affectionately called in homage to his hometown Athens. Antonios is a self-taught. His love for craftsmanship, hand made, unique pieces, will lead him to Rome where in 2013 moved his studio. He will refine his production techniques, combining the traditional methods learnt in the capital and the free and business-oriented Milanese spirit.
He puts together the knowledge of precious woods to the industrial design metals, proposing them in a more sophisticated and elegant way. Sometimes he uses unusual techniques such as bronze welding, learnt during his stay in London by the British bicycle manufacturers, other great passion of Antonios. During this ongoing process he meets Sinopia Art Gallery – which will embrace his work with enthusiasm, recognizing the requested qualities to be part of the family of artists of the Roman gallery.
